Current Giving Opportunities

Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation
The Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation provides innovative, educational opportunities and fills funding gaps that impact every student and teacher in the Sioux Falls School District.
A gift of $100 provides a scholarship for a low-income 8th grader to take the Connections course, a week-long summer session that prepares them for high school. During the days onsite at Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, or Washington high schools, they meet with staff, explore extracurricular activities, tour the building, and access online resources. This is a great opportunity for students to get to know their new school, connect with peers and educators, and to address any concerns before the first day of classes.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul strives to build a more just world through personal relationships with and service to those in need irrespective of religious, racial, or ethnic background. Our mission focuses on prevention of homelessness via the Home Visit (HV) Ministry and assistance to children of families in need with our Holy Innocents Ministry (HIM).
Our HV Ministry is focused on prevention of homelessness by providing immediate financial assistance for housing and non-housing expenses to our neighbors in need. Donations to HIM fund purchase of diapers/wipes and formula vouchers for distribution to those in need with over 3000 families currently served annually. Our goal is to grow both ministries given the unmet community need for these resources. Donations of $250 or $500 will assist families served by HVs with rent and utility expenses or allow purchase of approximately 1600 and 3200 diapers, respectively, for our HIM ministry. Donations of any size will be greatly appreciated by those neighbors you will be serving.

Toy Lending Library of South Dakota
The Toy Lending Library of South Dakota's mission is to create opportunities for children zero to five years old to enhance their learning development through play. This organization supports children's learning through play by creating opportunities for families to borrow a toy box for children, free of charge. Once children have played with the box of toys, they are returned and exchanged for new ones. There are currently 12 locations where toy boxes are available for checkout.
Partnership Sponsorship: The cost to develop a toy box is $100. The annual cost to maintain (clean, sanitize and repair) a toy box is $100. New partnerships generally require the creation of 50 toy boxes, with half available for loan at the partner site and the remainder at the TLL site for maintenance. For the Toy Lending Library to be sustainable, it is looking for support on creating and/or maintaining a Partnership. A $5,000 donation will support the start of a Partnership or $10,000 would support the start and maintenance of a Partnership for one year.

Volunteers of America, Dakotas
Volunteers of America, Dakotas is a non-profit organization that operates programming in four primary service areas: behavioral health; children, youth, and families; intellectual and developmental disabilities; and homelessness. Their CHOICES program supports individuals with IDD through a range of services, including residential support, day services, vocational training, and therapeutic interventions.
Currently, the CHOICES program serves 259 individuals, with 50 receiving day services at our N. Cleveland Ave. location in Sioux Falls. While our existing building has served us well for over 15 years, its limitations hinder our ability to meet the growing and evolving needs of our participants. In December, VOA Dakotas acquired the property previously known as the Apple Tree Center North. With renovations to improve the space for functionality at our CHOICES Day Services Center, our new facility will help us address the challenges we faced at our former center: access to public transportation and insufficient space for large group activities, therapies, and accommodation for physical disabilities. We invite community members to join us in strengthening our entire community through this critical investment as we seek to raise $580,000 to support the development of the new Day Services Center.

UGM is a beacon of light for those lost in the dark - offering food, shelter, clothing, resources and spiritual guidance to help people find health, healing and hope as they work to reclaim their independence.
We are in need of a pallet jack with a scale and estimate the cost to be around $1,800. Our staff drives around Sioux Falls daily picking up donated food from a variety of local businesses. The Promising Futures Fund
The Promising Futures Fund began in 2019 and is comprised of a group of committed volunteer board members. We believe that a child's economic background should never prevent them from having the same education, same experiences and same opportunities as a child whose family has more resources.
We currently cover 240 classrooms in kindergarten through 5th grade across 13 elementary schools - roughly 5,700 students receiving 51,000 books! Research shows that when a child in poverty can choose their own book and own that book, there is a much greater likelihood that they will read it. This is a critical baseline program for Promising Futures. Your $350 donation sponsors a K-2nd grade classroom for the Book-A-Month club, and $650 sponsors one 3rd-5th grade classroom.

Washed Clean Ministries
Washed Clean Ministries (WCM) is a nonprofit organization that serves to support alcohol and drug recovery programs for men, women, and children. We support struggling community members through 24/7 transitional housing for men, women, and children and through the steps of rehabilitating the individual with the goal being free of their addiction(s) and becoming a productive member of the community. This program goes beyond a traditional thirty-day recovery program. The program is offered as an eighteen-month program and the first ninety days are a very intense assistance to help each individual on their road to recovery. WCM offers interaction with the individuals after completing their programs.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 to improve the men’s residential rooms and the other shared areas that serve the needs of the residents. The facility needs upgrades and improvements inside and out. The facility is approximately 73 years old. This project goal would cover the remodeling and upgrades and pay off the facility mortgage. This would enable Washed Clean Ministries to continue to provide ministries and services for our current and future residents to aid in setting them free on their path of sobriety, and to help grow their individual relationships with Christ. South Dakota Voices for Peace
South Dakota Voices for Peace builds power and enables healing in our immigrant, refugee, and Muslim communities by amplifying their voices and working in solidarity with all who dismantle bigotry and racism.
Cohorts of Courage: Youth Advocates is an education and action-oriented networking program for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) youth in South Dakota who want to learn to effectively respond to racism and bigotry in their communities. Through this week-long community-based program, we seek to build power in and inspire our next generation of change-makers. Our goal is to strengthen the connections between organizations and BIPOC youth by building partnerships. After the intensive, the Youth Advocates will take what they have learned and engage in discussion with the greater public to address their concerns, hopes and lay the foundation for a sustainable future of understanding, collaboration, and coalition.
We are seeking funding for our Cohorts of Courage program. A donation of $1,000 pays for one young South Dakotan to complete this program.

The Legacy Foundation
Founded in 2022, The Legacy Foundation works to bridge gaps in healthcare access for families in need, served by physicians and medical students in South Dakota. Our programs focus on obtaining essential medical supplies more easily, supporting critically ill children and their families via humanitarian trips, and providing tangible solutions to healthcare barriers.
One of the programs at The Legacy Foundation is Owen's Outfitters, a medical equipment library located in Sioux Falls, SD. Families donate medical equipment or supplies they don't need anymore and we provide it to those in need free of charge.
Every day, families face the challenge of needing medical supplies that they simply cannot afford: children who need wheelchairs, adults who need diabetes supplies, and parents that need walkers or canes. Owen's Outfitters provides those supplies and everything in between. A donation of $50 helps us deliver a lift chair, hospital bed, feeding supplies, or a powerchair to a family in our community.

Falls Area SingleTrack (FAST)
Falls Area SingleTrack (FAST) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to protect, create, and enhance quality trail experiences for mountain bikers in cooperation with other trail users in the Sioux Falls area. FAST actively promotes responsible trail use, supports volunteer trail work, assists land managers with trail management issues, and improves relations among all trail user groups at no cost to local taxpayers.
Falls Area SingleTrack (FAST) is embarking on an exciting project to develop over 10 miles of sustainable multi-use trails at Great Bear Park. This initiative is designed to create opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, and running, welcoming users of all skill levels. These thoughtfully designed trails will not only enhance outdoor recreation but also position Sioux Falls as a premier destination for mountain biking and outdoor activities. To bring this vision to life, FAST is seeking to raise $1.2 million, and your support can help make this dream a reality.
We kindly ask for your support in funding this legacy project. A contribution of $25,000 can fund a key trail zone, $10,000 supports essential infrastructure like bridges, and $50,000+ sponsors a marquee trail or trailhead. No matter the size of your gift, whether it's $5 or $5,000, every contribution moves us closer to completing a trail system that will serve the community for generations.

Sioux Empire Wheels to Work
Wheels to Work is a 20-year-old non-profit organization in Sioux Falls, South Dakota that matches qualifying single-parent families with safe and reliable donated vehicles free of charge. We call donated vehicles “Angel Cars,” because they have such a profoundly positive impact on the lives of those who receive them. We currently have a waiting list of eligible households to match with Angel Car donations in the Sioux Empire area.
Monetary donations go toward “Angel Repairs” on vehicles belonging to qualified individuals in need of a one-time car repair of up to $500. Vehicle and monetary donations are tax-deductible. Because the organization is entirely volunteer-run, with very few administrative costs, 99.9% of every donation goes directly to the people served by Wheels to Work.

SD Deaf Resource & Outreach Programs
SD Deaf Resource & Outreach Programs (SD DROP) provides Community Support and Telecommunication Equipment Distribution to the Deaf Community.
We are hosting our 4th annual camp for deaf/hard of hearing high school students in July. This year, we’ve learned that our meals cannot be funded under our regular grant, and also that a student who is DeafBlind and uses tactile sign language will be attending. We are looking for $5,000 to cover the cost of food for our 5-day camp with about 25 students (plus staff), as well as support additional workers to provide tactile interpreting and intervenor services. Tactile interpreters communicate so that student's hands feel the signs tactilely. An intervenor accompanies a deafblind person throughout the day to share environmental information and support socialization. Any support would be greatly appreciated to ensure we can host the camp and provide full access to all.
