Message From the President 2024

Andy Patterson

As we reflect on 2024, it’s clear that this has been a year defined by extraordinary generosity and community spirit. With $92 million in gifts and $38 million in grants, we’ve set new records. But these numbers represent so much more — they represent lives changed, communities strengthened, and futures made brighter by the collective efforts of individuals, families, and organizations who care deeply about making a difference.

At the center of this impact are the nonprofits that work tirelessly every day to serve our community. As we have temporarily settled into the Nonprofit Center during the Depot’s renovation, we are reminded daily of the crucial role these organizations play in fostering the well-being and resilience of our community. From providing basic needs like food and shelter to supporting the arts, education, and healthcare, these nonprofits are the driving force behind so much of the good happening in Sioux Falls.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the remarkable generosity of our donors. They are the cornerstone of the work being done in our community. They don’t just give, they inspire others to get involved, creating a ripple effect of generosity that strengthens the fabric of our community. Their commitment to making a difference is what powers the incredible work happening every day across the Sioux Falls area.

It takes an entire community to make great things happen. The donors who believe in a better future, the nonprofits who carry out the work, and the partners who collaborate with us along the way — each plays a critical role in creating lasting impact. The Community Foundation is honored to serve as a bridge, connecting generosity with need, and empowering those who uplift our community.

Thank you to our donors, our nonprofit partners, and all those who believe in the power of community. Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant Sioux Falls, and we are proud to be part of this incredible journey with you.

Sincerely,

Andy Patterson
President
