Legislative Focus: SECURE 2.0 Act and the Sunset of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
It may be a good time to start having conversations with your clients about how philanthropic planning can help them prepare for upcoming legislative changes.
Read MoreLarge, national financial institutions provide basic charitable solutions for many clients and, while those products work well for some, donors with clear charitable goals may desire more tailored services.
That’s where the Community Foundation comes in. Our unmatched knowledge of our community’s greatest challenges and the nonprofits working to address them, combined with broad philanthropic planning expertise, enables donors to make an even greater impact.
Recently, we worked with an advisor whose client had a donor advised fund through Schwab Charitable. While sufficient in the beginning, as his charitable plans grew, he realized that the Schwab account was not providing the level of services he would need to achieve his charitable goals. So, he worked with his advisor to set up a donor advised fund at the Community Foundation.
Since the Community Foundation is a 501c(3) public charity, transferring funds from his existing fund to his new donor advised fund at the Foundation was easy. The donor simply requested a grant to be distributed to us, and we handled it from there.
Our local presence and personal touch allow us to work with donors at every step of the journey: from donating complex assets, to making strategic giving decisions that accomplish charitable goals, to establishing a legacy plan so the donor’s intentions are carried out long into the future.
