Hundreds joined the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation for the 2024 Donor Reception, an annual update on the state of philanthropy in our area.

"This year marks 40 years of the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation as a champion of philanthropy," said Foundation President Andy Patterson.

"In 1984, that first year, the Foundation was proud to award $4,500 in grants. In the past fiscal year, the Foundation granted out more than $38 million. A record amount and a testament to the generosity of Sioux Falls.

That brings the cumulative total of grants from the Foundation to more than $313 million.

Last year, the Foundation also took in a record $90 million in contributions that ensure even more resources will flow out to the community in the future.

Thank you to our donors, our nonprofit partners, and all those who believe in the power of community. Together, we are building a stronger, more vibrant Sioux Falls, and we are proud to be part of this incredible journey with you."
